    Someone apparently used a hammer to smash open a window, then stole a laptop belonging to Nick Kimball, who had just been named the DFL's interim communications director.

    Kimball said the break-in apparently happened between Saturday night and Sunday morning.He said nothing else appears to have been taken.

    Kimball said the hammer apparently used in the break-in was left in his office.He said police are testing it for fingerprints.
