    Sunwook Kim has crowned his success in the Ettlingen International Piano Competition in 2004 and the Clara Haskil International Piano Competition in 2005.Audiences, critics and fellow musicians acclaimed his virtuosity and musical maturity.Moreover, he captured international attention by winning the Leeds International Pianoforte Competition 2006.He was the first Korean and Asian pianist, and the youngest over 40 years, to win this competition.The press praised his majestic performance of the Brahms 1st piano concerto with superb power, technique and passion.

    He was born in Seoul, Korea in 1988 and started piano lessons at the age of three.He won most of the domestic piano competitions since the age of ten and made his debut as a pianist through the Kumho Prodigy Concert Series.After middle school he entered the Korean National University of Arts and became a student of Daejin Kim.

    Since his debut with the Ulsan Philharmonic Orchestra at age 12, the talented young pianist has performed with the foremost orchestras of Korea and at the leading international music festivals.He performed with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra and had recitals in Darmstadt, Ettlingen and Kumho Art Hall for the Rising Stars Series.He was invited by the Klavier-Festival Ruhr(Germany) in 2005 and the Aspen Music Festival and School(U.S.) in 2006.His recent performance at Sejong Chamber Hall Opening Festival was 120mins long with remarkable passion and acclaimed by audiences and critics.

    During the 2006-07 season, he is scheduled to play recitals in Korea, HongKong, Switzerland, Germany and at the Bury St. Edmonds Festival in UK.He will also have orchestral performances with Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Changwon Philharmonic Orchestra, and Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Myung-Whun Chung.

    Sunwook Kim is the first member of the Daewon Artists and supported by the Daewon Cultural Foundation.

    Born in Seoul, Korea, in 1988, Sunwook Kim began the piano at the age of 3. He gave his debut recital aged just 10 at the Kumho Prodigy Series in Seoul, and this was followed by his concerto debut two years later. Since then he has been a regular guest of Korea's finest orchestras, including the Seoul Philharmonic and the KBS Symphony, both at home and on tour internationally.
