Mr Sun Yung Kim, President of Kia Motors Europe, said: 'The Hyundai-Kia Group is determined to bring affordable and usable green technology to the European consumer.

Kia Motors Europe is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Sun-Young Kim to the position of President Kia Motors Europe (KME) with immediate effect.

Mr Kim joins KME from his position as President and CEO of Kia Motors (UK) Ltd. and brings a wealth of diverse executive experience to Kia's European operations having worked in the automotive industry in Korea, the USA, Belgium and the UK.

Appointed President and CEO of Kia UK in January 2007, Mr Kim oversaw annual sales growth which outperformed the market trend during his two years with the company.

Born in February 1955, Mr Kim joined Hyundai Engineering & Construction Ltd in 1981 and subsequently held senior executive positions at the Hyundai Corporations headquarters in Seoul and at Hyundai Motors America.

Before heading up KMUK, Mr Kim held the position of Managing Director at Hyundai Mobis - Korea's largest components manufacturer - in Belgium, and previously worked as Vice President of their International Business Division, based in Seoul.

The 53-year old Mr Kim is married with two children and is an enthusiastic golfer in his spare time.

Mr Kim's predecessor at KME, Mr Kwang-Ho Nam, is returning to Kia Motors Corporation in Korea, to take up a new executive position.

Kia Motors (UK) Limited is pleased to announce the arrival of its new President and CEO, Mr Sun Young Kim with immediate effect.

Mr Kim, 51, arrives from Hyundai Mobis in Korea where he held the position of Vice President of International Business Division to succeed Mr BK Jang who has returned to Korea.

After working as the General Manager of Export Parts at Hyundai Motor Company, Mr Kim joined Mobis Parts Europe in Belgium as Managing Director in 1997.He was also based in the USA from 1990 to 1994 where he was the Senior Parts Coordinator for Hyundai Motors America Inc.

Mr Kim said: "I am pleased be part of Kia which has experienced incredible growth over the last few years and I would like to thank Mr Jang for his hard work.

Kia Motors has announced the arrival of its new President and CEO, Mr Sun Young Kim with immediate effect.

Mr Kim, 51, arrives from Hyundai Mobis in Korea where he held the position of Vice President of International Business Division to succeed Mr BK Jang who has returned to Korea.

Mr Kim said: "Kia Motors is constantly developing and evolving, with the opening of our new factory in Zilina, we are able to provide the European market with a product that has been both designed and built in Europe, the cee'd.It's now my job to ensure that Kia Motors (UK) Limited continues towards its goal of 100,000 units per year."

He added "Our seven year warranty has reinforced the confidence we have in our products."
