Patty Kim is the media relations coordinator for Moffitt Cancer Center, where she works with staff to identify, develop and place stories in the media.
Before joining Moffitt, Patty worked at The Tampa Tribune.
She spent several years on the copy desk, worked as a cops and general assignment reporter, and most recently helped launch the new 4you health and fitness section.
She took the lead as the reporter, editor and coordinator for the weekly publication.
Patty was born in East Alton, Ill., and lived briefly near Arlington, Va., before her family settled in Bradenton.
She earned a bachelor's degree in microbiology from the University of Florida and a bachelor's in mass communications from the University of South Florida.
She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Florida Public Relations Association, Asian American Journalists Association and University of Florida Alumni Association.

Patty is usually in training for an upcoming run, such as the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon.
Running fuels her relentless passion for good food, which is why you'll often find her cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
She's a huge health nut who loves the outdoors, which includes inline skating, kayoga and fishing.
She also loves traveling, curling up with a good book and catching a Gators game.
