Host
Patty Kim is an award-winning broadcast correspondent and producer whose assignments have taken her all over the world, including the Middle East, Asia and South America.
She has worked as a correspondent and anchor for the National Geographic Channel and produced several features and documentaries.
Kim's awards include the prestigious CINE Golden Eagle Award for excellence in documentary film.
In 2003, she won an Asian American Journalists Association Award for her series filmed on location in China about global fascination with the endangered panda.
Kim's most recent project is an independent feature-length documentary called "ABDUCTION," which she co-directed with her husband, Chris Sheridan.
Produced in association with the BBC, "ABDUCTION" tells the story of a young Japanese woman kidnapped by North Korean spies.
It has won several top honors since its debut in January 2006.
Before joining National Geographic, Kim worked as a correspondent and anchor for a popular nightly science and nature program on the Discovery Channel.
Prior to that, she worked for CBC television in Montreal, first as an arts and entertainment reporter and then as host of a weekly national program.
Her energetic storytelling ultimately led to her assignment as special correspondent producing features about Quebec culture, which became a staple on the broadcast.
Her first job in TV was as a weathercaster for The Weather Network.
She still thinks there's a 60% chance of showers for the weekend.
