E. KURT KIM is the founder, president and chief executive officer of PrivateRaise®, L.L.C. (www.privateraise.com), the leading research consultancy for comprehensive market intelligence and analysis pertaining to private placements of equity and equity-linked securities executed by public companies (i.e., PIPEs and Rule 144a transactions).

Mr. Kim has spent the past decade in various advisory and deal-making capacities within the financial services sector.
Prior to founding PrivateRaise® in March 2000, Mr. Kim was an investment manager with Promethean Asset Management and was responsible for the origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of investment opportunities involving equity private placements.Mr. Kim's experience spans a diverse range of industries and a broad array of investment structures.
Prior to joining Promethean, Mr. Kim worked as a strategy management consultant for Mercer Management Consulting and Towers Perrin.Mr. Kim has had extensive experience consulting with senior management of financial institutions and intermediaries, including major U.S. banks, mutual funds, insurance companies and health care entities on a variety of strategic, economic/financial and organizational issues.
Mr. Kim has been quoted in leading business newspapers, journals, and publications including the Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires, The Deal, Inc.Magazine, Institutional Investor, Thomson Financial's Buyouts, and Venture Economic's Private Equity Week.
Mr. Kim is co-Editor/co-Author of PIPEs: A Guide to Private Investments in Public Equity (Bloomberg Press, October 2003).
Mr. Kim holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in economics and government from Wesleyan University.
