ANSOOK KIM, Ph.DDevelopmental Intervention Specialist
AnSook Kim is working with Pathways as a Developmental Intervention Specialist with the Special Needs Advisory Project.She has been collaboratively working on the development of a training manual, curriculum and presentations for child care providers.Dr. Kim received her Ph. D degree in Family and Child Ecology with an emphasis in Child Development and Early Childhood Education from Michigan State University.Her prior professional experiences include teaching subjects on early childhood education and child development at college and university levels.She also worked as a substitute for Head Teachers at the Child Development Laboratory Preschool in Michigan State University.Dr. Kim developed and implemented a parenting program for parents with ethnically diverse backgrounds.She has conducted research to investigate the effect of verbal scaffolding on the complexity of children's block constructions.She presented the research findings at national and state-level conferences and published in Play and Educational Theory and Practice (2003).
