On Tues., June 24 from 6-7 p.m., Kay Kilpatrick, a research associate at the University of Miami, will give a talk that will be sure to interest local fishermen.It is entitled "Finding Fish from Space and other useful things to do with measurements of sea surface temperature from satellites."She will relate the science of remote sensing with the science of successful fishing.
Kilpatrick is a member of the Remote Sensing Group of the Meteorological and Physical Oceanography Division at the Rosenstiel School of Marine Science in Miami.She grew up in the Boothbay region and formed an appreciation for marine science at an early age.
