Board Chair Jamie Killorin said the foundation board is open to public opinion.

"We appreciate the public input and are listening to the community," Killorin said. She said board members never expected the reaction they are getting from area residents.

Killorin said the foundation board has not yet determined its next move.

"We're still working on a time line and really don't have it all mapped out," she said."We're looking for a good outcome. We want everybody to be happy with it."

Killorin said the board members, who are all volunteers, have been subjected to hard lobbying from community members since the name change was announced.

"It as been difficult on them as individuals," she said."They get phone calls and e-mails disrupting their work and at home. It's been very hard on them.

"We've requested nicely that people stop the lobbying effort and write to us," Killorin said."We just need a little time."
