Kristen went to school at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.In her time there earning her bachelors degree in Atmospheric Science, she was Weather Center Director, UML's American Meteorological Society chapter President, Connector senior staff meteorologist (the University's newspaper), and chief meteorologist for WJUL - the University's radio station.It was appearing live on WJUL up to 4 times a day in between studies that sparked her interest in becoming a broadcast meteorologist.In her spare time, Kristen loves to hang out with her six younger brothers and sisters: Jerod, Danny, Sean, Katie, Kelly, and Colleen.She enjoys writing (and YES, she is a relative of the late Jack Kerouac!Jack was her grandfather's cousin.) and singing.In addition to being heard on WORC when one of their 'regular' forecasters are out, she can be heard weekdays on Cool Country 940 WGFP.

It's a little known fact that Kristen does all of her forecasting BAREFOOT.Why she does this remains a mystery.
