Rick Kerns, Property Master

Property Master Rick Kerns Property master Rick Kerns obtained a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Hawaii and did work for a Master's in Fine Arts at the Art Institute of Chicago.He started out as a production assistant for a commercial production house, a position that enabled him to learn about the various departments involved with television production.A property master became his mentor and interested him in props and helped him with his career.

One of his first TV series jobs was on " China Beach," where he started as "3rd broom" (someone who helps out with miscellaneous prop tasks) and worked his way up to assistant property master and property master.He has worked in the property department for shows including "Viper," the miniseries "Sinatra" and "Poor Little Rich Girl."He has been with "ER" since its beginning.
