Alex Kent A Food Science graduate emitted from the Procter Department of Leeds University, Alex has enjoyed a long and varied career in technical and quality management with such infamous names as M & S, Unilever, Homepride and Unigate, as well as at the margins - as a food law enforcement officer with a Trading Standards Department, an hotel & restaurant inspector and a science teacher.

Alex is currently a Trustee of the Educational Trust Fund, Vice-chair of the South Eastern Branch, and served as Hon Treasurer to the Institute between 1998 and 2002.

He likes to think he plays a mean hand of bridge and exhibits a particular fondness for fermented grape juice.

A Food Science graduate emitted from the Procter Department of Leeds University, Alex has enjoyed a long and varied career in technical and quality management with such infamous names as M & S, Unilever, Homepride and Unigate, as well as at the margins - as a food law enforcement officer with a Trading Standards Department, an hotel & restaurant inspector and a science teacher.  He has been employed by Fibrisol Service Ltd as their Q A Manager for the last ten years.

Alex is currently Chair of the South Eastern Branch [until October 2009] and has served as Hon.Treasurer to the Institute between 1998 and 2002. He is also Treasurer of UKFFoST .

He likes to think he plays a mean hand of bridge and exhibits a particular fondness for fermented grape juice.
