Kelkar Joins EMF as Optical Coating Engineer
ITHACA, NY -- Parag V. Kelkar was appointed optical coating engineer at Evaporated Metal Films (EMF) Corporation.His responsibilities include designing optical coatings and production processes.

Kelkar previously served as senior optics engineer at Corning Inc. in Corning, N.Y., where he was responsible for new product and process development for the Photonics technology division.He led Corning's efforts to develop high bit rate Erbium doped amplifiers and novel components.He also served as a researcher in the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of California at Los Angeles, working on the Photonic-assisted analog to digital converters for RADAR applications.
Kelkar has a doctorate in physics from Brown University.His graduate work involved study of gain mechanism in blue-green light emitting vertical cavity lasers.
