MaryJo Kekllas, Veterinary Assistant, CVDTMary Jo is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio.She attended Eastern Kentucky University and moved to St. Petersburg in 1971.In 1996, she left the Sunshine State to live in Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Long Island, New York.While in the Andes Mountains feeding and caring for the "street dogs," and missing her own pets at home, Mary Jo was compelled to return to the USA and seek employment at a non-profit, adoption center and clinic in New York."It was an incredible and rewarding learning experience for me, and I wanted to bring it back home to Florida," she says.She has worked at Central Animal Hospital since August 2000.Mary Jo enjoys fostering orphaned squirrels, and her pets at home include five cats.With family and friends nearby along with Tampa Bay Buccaneers football, she "couldn't ask for anything more!"
