Michael W. Keith, M.D.
Dr. Michael Keith is Chief of the Hand Surgery Service at MetroHealth Medical Center.He has been a member of the Orthopaedic Department and associated with the hospital for over 30 years.He is Professor of Orthopaedics and Biomedical Engineering at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Keith specializes in evaluation and treatment of hand, shoulder, and upper extremity problems.He also treats complex nerve and paralysis problems involving the upper extremity in spinal cord, traumatic brain injury, brachial plexus injury and other peripheral nerve disorders.
Dr. Keith is an internationally known lecturer and has published extensively on restoration of upper extremity hand function in paralyzed persons.He has written several book chapters and co-authored over 60 articles.He is Chairperson of Evidence Based Medical Practice for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.He has chaired efforts to create Evidence Based Clinical Practice Guidelines.
