Keith said that the university remains interested in acquiring property along The Strip or elsewhere in Tuscaloosa if it fits with the campus master plan that is still being developed.
The university also owns other land on The Strip.Publix Super Market and the Town Center, both on opposite corners of Campus Drive and University Boulevard, sit on UA property.UA also made a vacant lot on the corner of Wallace Wade Avenue and University Boulevard.
Keith said the former site of Wittichen Supply Company, which moved to a new location off 10th Avenue in August, would be part of the facilities and maintenance warehouses and offices adjacent.
However, Lane and Keith stressed that there are no definite plans on what to do with the buildings on Bryant Drive and University Boulevard.
