Washington, D.C., December 18 - Duane Morris LLP, among the one hundred largest law firms in the nation, has expanded its Washington, D.C. office with the addition of Ken Keane, formerly of Arter & Hadden LLP.

Ken Keane practices in the area of telecommunications law and policy.Ken's practice focuses on the representation of broadcast and other wireless clients before the Federal Communications Commission and on radio spectrum policy matters.
In the wireless area, he counsels clients on FCC rules and policies, and related compliance issues; assists clients with respect to the preparation of license applications and other filings with the Commission; and provides advice and counsel in connection with transactions.Ken has drafted and negotiated numerous asset purchase agreements for communications properties and agreements for the lease of excess capacity on microwave radio systems.In addition, he is frequently called upon to provide FCC advice in connection with secured loans to communications companies.
In the area of spectrum policy, Ken represents client interests in the protection of spectrum allocated for flight testing.This representation is before the International Telecommunications Union and in related domestic proceedings.He also represents trade associations in FCC rulemakings affecting rules and policies for wireless systems, such as the ongoing FCC proceeding relative to interference from Nextel.
Ken is a 1972 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and a cum laude graduate of Holy Cross College.He served in the United States Navy from 1966-1969, including a year with a U.S. Marine unit in Vietnam, 1968-69.
