  Derby City Mission were co-ordinating the weekend's activities across the city, After the event, Director Alasdair Kay said, "We do hope you had a great weekend, I certainly did, it was great to get around and see some of your Hope '08 projects ... as people reached out in practical ways to their communities.

  Alasdair Kay joined the Mission on the 1st May as our new Director. He was born in Woolwich, London but he has lived all over the world as a member of a naval family.
  
  He was a dramatically converted to Christ in 1986 whilst serving as a paratrooper in the French Foreign Legion....a story to be heard!
  
  He has spent the last five years as a missionary in Calais, France planting a church in an inner city area as well as having an itinerant ministry to inner city areas of Paris. Prior to that, he worked as a church based evangelist and youth and schools worker in Kent.
  
  Alasdair trained for Christian ministry with the Ichthus Church Planters and Evangelists Course based in Forest Hill, serving in Peckham and Deptford, south London.

  Alasdair put his faith in Jesus whilst serving as a paratrooper in the French Foreign Legion . After that he confessed to crimes he had committed previously and served a prison sentence. Later he trained for the Christian ministry and is now director of Derby City Mission.
