To respond to the growing need for the diagnosis and treatment of allergies, The London Clinic has launched a new allergy service led by Professor A B Kay, Consultant in Clinical Immunology and Allergies.
The service treats patients with hay fever, persistent allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, bee and wasp sting anaphylaxis, allergic skin disorders and food allergies/ intolerances.A range of diagnostic tests is undertaken including skin, allergy blood and allergy challenge tests in addition to lung function tests.The treatments involve allergen avoidance measures for reaction to dust mites and pets, desensitisation injections for allergies to grass and tree pollens and good avoidance diets.
Prof. Kay is Professor of Clinical Immunology at The National Heart and Lung Institute of the Royal Brompton campus of Imperial College.
