Debra Karch, Ph.D., named assistant vice president, Information Management

PHILADELPHIA, March 9, 2000 - Strengthening its ability to provide customers with strategic information delivery and outcomes analysis, Intracorp has appointed industry veteran Debra Karch, Ph.D., to head up its Information Management function.Karch will be based in Philadelphia, reporting to Intracorp's Chief Medical Officer Allen Woolf, M.D.

In this role, Karch will be responsible for driving leading-edge outcomes measurements and analyses across Intracorp's broad portfolio of medical and disability management products.She will oversee Intracorp's team of 59 information management consultants-including master's- and Ph.D.-level statisticians, data warehouse experts and outcomes analysts.

Most recently, Karch served as director of Outcomes Management for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, a 2.5-million-member health insurer.Prior to that, she was director of Value Management, for Methodist Hospitals of Dallas.She also has held executive positions in outcomes management and information services at Horizon Mental Health Management in Lewisville, Texas, and at ITI in Dallas.

For the past eight years, Karch served as an adjunct professor of sociology and women's studies at Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas, where she taught both undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in statistics, social research methodology and sociology.From 1984 to 1988, Dr. Karch served in the U.S. Army, rising to the position of captain in the 3rd Infantry Division.

Karch holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Iowa State University in Ames and a doctorate in sociology from Texas Women's University.She also has earned 29 graduate hours in public administration from the University of Oklahoma in Norman.A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Karch now resides in Philadelphia.
