"I bought the original Woodsman® broadhead because of its unparalleled performance and deadly results," says Dale Karch, President of 3Rivers Archery.

Dale Karch is "on Target" During Argentina Hunting Trip!

4.6.2009 Recently returning from Agentina, Dale Karch and friends were successsful on bowhunting Red Stag and Capybara, the world's largest rodent. Traditional archery in South America is a growing sport and with the beautiful countryside, many bowhunters are taking their archery gear and heading south.

Red Stag was the main big game animal of interest, but no bowhunter could resist stalking the world's largest rodent, the Capybara. A great trip for all archers involved and success for many. Dale and the others enjoyed the bowhunting and the countryside. A great hunt to be remembered.

President and Co-Owner of 3Rivers Archery, Dale Karch, feels the 125 Woodsman is the next logical step in the Woodsman's evolution. "The 125 Woodsman Broadhead features all the punch and power of the 150 packed into 125 grains of terror," says Karch.
    ...
"We have the greatest admiration for Teresa and trust her to help guide 3Rivers towards a bright future," says Dale.

3Rivers owners, Dale and Sandie Karch returned to South Africa with some of their close friends to hunt the exotic wild game and enjoy time in the presence of friends.
    ...
For the trip Dale had his mind set on harvesting a Gemsbuck. He also was able to get two Warthogs and a big Waterbuck.

Dale Karch & Denny Sturgis Jr. Return From Northern California
    ...
"The trip was a blast, and had great times on the hunt," said Dale. Though no trophy for the wall this time, were glad to have Dale back.

    Better luck next time guys...

    ...
The cold and challenging terrain made the hunt pretty tough, but Dale was finally able to bag a mature bull with one shot from his heavy Tomahawk "SS". The bull just wouldn't let Dale get in close. The snow had that squeeky-crunch it gets when it's that cold and the bull picked up Dale's movement surprisingly well. Don't believe that Bison don't have good eyes! Finally, toward dusk, Dale was able to get within 40-50 yards and took careful aim. (In case you've never seen Dale shoot, he is rock solid. I've never seen him buckle under pressure.) The shot felt right to Dale and he released. He said he watched that arrow all the way, just knowing it was going to be a good hit.
    ...
Dale will be using his 70# Tomahawk "SS" and heavy cedar arrows tipped with his favorite broadhead, the Woodsman®.

The bull is getting CLOSE, Dale doesn't move a muscle.
    ...
It wasn't long before the first bull of the hunt fell to a perfectly placed arrow from Dale's 70# Tomahawk "SS". Dale waited until the bull had his near leg forward and punched the prototype broadhead right through the bull's heart. The moment the arrow hit, the bull snapped his head up and searched for movement. Dale stood solid as a rock. The words of his guide kept racing through his head.

    "Don't move, but keep shooting."

Dale couldn't move, the bull was still looking his way. Then in one fluid motion, the bull turned and ran. After a good long wait, they took up the trail and found Dale's bull dead and down. The "Little Delta" broadhead had done it's job well, cutting right through the top of the heart. A one arrow kill, on a 1500 pound animal that went barely 60 yards. Score one for Dale Karch.

Stand placement is a big part of the bowhunting thrill for Dale. There is great satisfaction in selecting a productive stand site then harvesting a nice buck. With his decision made, Dale settled in for the long haul. In time, Dale noticed a nice eight-point rack bobbing in his direction through the tall grass. It didn't take long to decide this one was a shooter. Not huge, but a very nice whitetail buck. Since the buck gave him the perfect shot opportunity, Dale took it and sent a Carbon Express on its way.

Dale had confidence that the shot was good, but decided to quietly head back to camp before taking up the trail. Later, after a brief tracking job, they found Dale's trophy less than 150 yards from the stand site. It looked as though he had run until he dropped. The Wensel Woodsman broadhead had done its job well. There were congratulations all around, a few pictures snapped, and a small camp celebration that evening.

Dale not only owns 3Rivers Archery, he is the designer and originator of the Tomahawk Bow Company. He always hunts with one of his creations and this time it was one of his favorites, his Tomahawk™ "SS" Longbow . A sweet shooter that has made much meat for him in the past.

Wow, everyone in camp, Dale Karch, Ted Judson, Bryan Burkhardt, and Len Rinke all harvested musk ox with their longbows and recurve bows!

Everyone in the group had a great time and look forward to their next bowhunting adventure.

    Congratulations to all!

Dale Karch gets his Musk Ox!

09.06.2005 We just got the news! Dale and his Tomahawk™ Longbow came through with a beautiful Musk Ox. These tundra animals are quite thrilling to hunt with the bow and arrow. The country is difficult to get to and many bowhunters never have the opportunity to hunt these prehistoric animals. We don't have any real details yet, but Dale did get through to Sandie (No easy task when you're in the middle of the tundra!) and told her of his success.

08.23.05 Dale Karch, owner of 3Rivers Archery is leaving Aug 30th and heading to Canada's Northwest Territory in search of a trophy musk ox. He'll be hunting out of Holeman with three other traditional bowhunters. Conditions this time of year should be very favorable so our expectations are high. This is Dale's first hunt for musk ox and he's pretty pumped about it. He'll be carrying his trusty 55# Tomahawk "SS" longbow and shooting 650 grain 250 Carbon Express shafts arrows tipped with 175 grain Wensel Woodsman broadheads of course! Stay tuned, we'll keep you posted on how he does and what adventures he has while up in that beautiful country.
