"We,re excited about bringing the Swedish standard of high-quality emergency services to the Issaquah area," said Brynn Karch, M.D., managing physician of the Swedish/Issaquah ER."This growing area needs its own emergency care, especially given increasing traffic congestion between Issaquah and the nearest area hospitals."

Dr. Karch, a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, has practiced emergency medicine for 12 years in the Seattle area.For the past six years, he has been on staff at Swedish Medical Center,s First Hill and Providence campuses.During this period, he has developed strong ties with the Swedish medical staff and the Seattle medical community.

"It won't be so sterile," said Dr. Brynn Karch, managing physician for the center.

If serious trauma patients come in, they would be stabilized before they're moved to a hospital for surgery, Karch said.Still, the majority of ER patients aren't in life-or-death situations, so the Issaquah campus will be a convenient option for most people seeking urgent care, he said.

Swedish Medical Center has appointed Dr. Brynn Karch as the managing physician of the new emergency room it is opening March 1.

Karch has practiced emergency medicine for 12 years, spending the last six at Swedish's First Hill and Providence campuses.
