BONNIE KARCH

Bonnie has been an active member of the Girl Scouts for 33 years.She began her work as an adult volunteer in Orange County back in 1975 where she served as a product sales cookie coordinator, day camp director and troop leader.In 1981 she moved to New Jersey and continued to serve in positions such as service unit manager, camp site director, and even secretary for the board of directors.In 1989 Bonnie moved to Las Vegas and continued her volunteer service with Frontier Council in many other positions.Bonnie has been a positive influence and role model in everything she has done.

BONNIE KARCH

Over the years Bonnie has held many positions on the service team, including Team Coordinator. Her organization and calm personality make our volunteers feel welcome and supported. Bonnie also has been the co-chair of Silver Willow's week long day camp for the past two years serving more than 170 girls! Bonnie provided songs, activity direction, games, and more. She ensures the day camp culminates with a special presentation where girls get a chance to show off what they have learned to the special family members in their lives.

Karch had many experiences dealing with people in need, but one that stood out in her mind involved a lonely woman.A number of teddy bears had been donated to WEAP and Karch was passing them out to children.An elderly woman approached and asked if she could have one, too.

"I told her they were for the kids and she said, 'My daughter just died and she always liked them,' " Karch said, adding that her heart went out to the woman.

"I'd like to have more volunteers like him," Karch said of Connors, then laughed.
