Jeremy A. Kaplan is executive editor of PC Magazine, co-host of the Fastest Geek competition, and a frequent guest on television.He is the founding editor of GoodCleanTech, which was recently nominated for a 2007 Weblog award, a MIN Best of the Web award, and a finalist for "Best Blog" in the 54th Annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards Competition.
In his role at PC Magazine, Jeremy helps to determine overall editorial direction for the magazine, manages staff, and shapes the editorial calendar.Prior to this, he launched ExtremeTech Magazine, targeting DIY computer enthusiasts.The magazine exists today as a popular web site.Along with ExtremeTech Magazine, Jeremy created a newsstand-only magazine named DigitalLife, which is tied into the popular event.During this time, he helped popularize the Fastest Geek competition, where contestants race to assemble a computer from parts as quickly as possible.The event has become a popular fixture at the DigitalLife conference in New York each Fall.Before starting ExtremeTech, Jeremy served as peripherals editor at PC Magazine --a diverse category covering monitors, printers, graphics cards, keyboards, optical drives, and more.
Recognized as an expert in the technology arena, Kaplan makes frequent appearances on local, national and international news programs including NY1, WB11, CNN, CNN HN, CNBC, MSNBC, and BBC, as well as the Fox News Network.He has also been interviewed by radio stations around the country.
Kaplan graduated from Vassar College in 1996, majoring in both English and Psychology.He lives in Bedford Stuyvesant, a brownstone neighborhood in Brooklyn, with his wife, his Vespa, and two cats.
