    NA working within laws, says Kaiwi

    THE president of the National Alliance Party, Simon Kaiwi has assured citizens not to doubt the organising capacity of the ruling party.Mr Kaiwi said over the past few days, those in the opposition camp had been trying to create instability and fear in the minds of the public by claiming that the National Alliance Party was not organised and prepared to form the next government. "I want to assure the public that the National Alliance Party is following the requirements of the Constitution in line with the Organic Law on Political Parties and Candidates (OLIPPAC)," he said.Mr Kaiwi appealed to critics to respect the democratic process, adding in 2001, his party and the Mekere Government voted for the Limited Preferential Voting System to be enforced this year.He said at the same time NA and the Mekere Government had voted for the Organic Law on Political Parties and Candidates to guide the conduct of national elections."National Alliance has remained consistent to these legislative changes of 2001 and is today following the democratic processes that will see the new government being installed next week Monday," he said.

    NAP President, Simon Kaiwi, said the comments were the opinions of the Prime Minister as parliamentary leader of the party and that the party was yet to decide on a policy position on the subject.
