   This is a premium service which we believe will allow mobile commerce to actually start happening," Jagdeep Kairon, CEO, Network Security Solutions (NSS) Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) SdnBhd, said. The software product developer, which relocated its headquarters from Pune to Kuala Lumpur's MSC, has an off shore development centre in Pune and an R&D centre in Penang, Malaysia.
   
   Mr Kairon added that with convergence, they will extend this to the desktop computer as well since this is a data service. The R&D team in Penang is also working on ensuring that non-XMS enabled handsets can receive the encrypted message which will erase itself once it is read.
   
   NSS MSC is in the process of bundling the software onto the handset and offering the service in the Middle East and Africa. Mr Kairon said they expect to sign an agreement with a global handset manufacturer next month.
   
   Pointing to the wide spread use of SMS, Mr Kairon said the Philippines has the highest usage of the service. The South East Asian nation accounts for 10 per cent of the world's SMS market, with a daily volume of 50 million SMS.
