   Media Staffing Network was formed in 1993* by Laurie Kahn, who at that time had experience in an ad agency as a buyer and in both national and local radio as a seller and a manager.After a successful career in radio in both Kansas City and Chicago, Laurie was looking for her next challenge.Lucky for her, (as is often the case) a new General Manager came in, cleaned house and Laurie was fired**.While deciding what her next career step would be, Laurie was offered a position as a "temporary sales rep" to cover for an expectant mom-to-be at a local radio station who was confined to bed rest.Thus, Rep Temps was born.After completing the maternity cover, Laurie started the company with the idea of placing temporary sales people in advertising sales, traffic and administrative position.

   Though optimistic, Laurie Kahn, CEO and co-founder of All About Careers, a consulting and training firm for corporations and individuals, is more pragmatic:
   
   "You may have to take a job that's not your dream job, but you should look for a job that will help you eventually get it--a job to increase your skills and experience for that dream job," said Kahn, who is based in Chicago.
   
   She also is president of Media Staffing Network Inc., a staffing firm that specializes in media sales and associated areas.
