Kay Kahl, Intern
Kay Kahl enthusiastically began her clinical training at The Center for Music Therapy, Inc. in October 2004. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Kay completed the coursework for a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree at Loyola University New Orleans with a concentration in soprano voice and a minor in Psychology. In May 2004, Kay was selected to receive Loyola's top honor: the Ignatian Award for Outstanding Senior Female. Through her internship at The Center for Music Therapy, Kay is building skills as an emerging professional in the areas of clinical practice and business marketing. Currently, her clinical hours include working with other therapists at The Center to co-treat a wide range of clients who have behavioral, developmental, and neurologic diagnoses. Therapy sessions vary from individual to group treatment, both at The Center and out in the community. Kay's marketing ventures consist of publishing quarterly newsletters, brochures, and other publicity materials. She is also in the process of developing and marketing the upcoming MusicFest 2005, an inclusive summer music camp for children and adolescents. Kay will conclude her clinical training work and be eligible to take the Board Certification exam for music therapists in April 2005.
