Mark Kagan - Director

Mark Kagan joined the family's logistics business in 1981.

Before joining Kagan, Mark studied Economics (1976) and Law (1978) at Monash University and practiced with a well-known firm of solicitors before running his own firm for two years.

Today, as a 50% owner of Kagan Logistics Pty Ltd, Mark spends his time in strategic development, networking and promotion - ensuring profitable growth of the business is maintained.

He is also an active member of the Victorian Family Business Australia Committee.

Mr. Mark Kagan - Kagan Warehousing & Distribution

Mark is keen to become a member of a growing, well organised operation that has at its core, th well being of family businesses. He is the 3 rd generation of a 4 th generation national warehousing and transport business. They have been trading since 1950. Mark's cousin and himself own it and are the directors. They both have three sons, Mark's eldest is 16 and his youngest is 6. Mark has been a member of FBA since its inception and is also a member of one of the forum groups. He is 50 years of age.

Mr. Mark Kagan - Scarpa Imports Pty Ltd

Mark has recently sold his family national warehousing and distribution business after working there for 28 years. He was a 3rd generation member together with his 4th generation cousins. The business commenced in 1950.

He now works with his wife in her 24 year old business, Scarpa Imports Pty Ltd - an importer of fine quality cards, gift wrap and stationery items.

He has been a member of the FBA Victorian committee since late 2005 and a member of an FBA Forum group since 2002.

Mark's qualifications include degrees in Law and Economics from Monash University. He is married with three boys ranging in age from 9 to 19

Lazar Kagan founded Kagan Bros Consolidated Pty Ltd in 1950, together with nephews Geoffrey and Leon, (the respective fathers of Gary and Mark Kagan).

Gary Kagan (B. Comm) and Mark Kagan (B.Ec. LLB), who have over 60 years combined experience in the logistics industry, were actively involved in running the business from 1985 until April 2008 when Kagan Logistics was merged with four other successful and long standing family businesses - Bunker Freight Lines, Doolan's Heavy Haulage, WA Freight Group and Hoffmanns Transport - becoming a member of the Silk Logsitics Group.
