Ron JurgensRon Jurgens is President and CEO of Agri Co-op in Holdrege, Nebraska.Agri Co-op is a grain and farm supply company with facilities in fourteen towns and sales that exceed 110 million dollars.

Ron and Iva have four children and three grandchildren.He had previously served on the CFA Board of Directors and also on various joint-venture cooperative boards as well as community organizations.

Ron was first elected to the Farmland Industries, Inc.Board of Directors in 1995 and was re-elected in 1998.He currently serves as Chairman of the Board's Pork Advisory Committee, the Corporate Responsibility Committee, and a member of the Executive Committee.

Ron continues to be impressed with the dedication of the Farmland staff and their focus on driving down the costs of production.

Ron has said, "Exposure to the many challenges of a twelve-billion dollar company is rewarding and worthy of the effort to keep yourself informed and to participate in the decision-making of the System."

Ron says Farmland is a world-class "Farm-to-Table" system.

Ronald Jurgens, 60, is general manager of Agri Co-op in Holdrege, Neb., and has been a member of the Farmland Industries Board since 1995.He currently serves on the Corporate Responsibility Committee and previously served on the Finance Committee.He is vice president of Liquitech, past secretary of the Cooperative Finance Association, and a member of the TBO Board, a three-co-op farm tire service business.Jurgens is also a member of Hastings Grain Exchange, and Nebraska Managers Association, and vice chairman of the Bethel Foundation.Jurgens attended Hamiltion Business College and LaSalle Extension University.

This weekend's ski tournament "draws a lot of people to town," said Ron Jurgens, manager of Hansen's IGA grocery store in Westby."It's a big deal in this area, with jumpers coming from other countries, and having a chance to get a taste of local hospitality and local foods.And with the spectators coming in to see the ski jump, it creates some business for us.

"It's a fair boost to our business," Jurgens said of the grocery store."Many people that don't spend the whole day here just buy some snacks at the concession stand" at the ski hill."But it does help in that extra people are staying around the area, and we do get some sales because of that."
