Jeff R. Joyce is a founding member of the firm and focuses his practice on corporate transactions and litigation.Prior to founding JT&K, Mr. Joyce practiced with Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP in Atlanta and was Senior In-House Counsel for NASDAQ-listed AMRESCO, Inc. managing structured finance transactions valued in excess of $35 billion involving most every major Wall Street investment bank including Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley, Salomon, Nomura, CSFB, and Merrill Lynch among a few.
As head of the firm's litigation department, Mr. Joyce concentrates his litigation practice on corporate and commercial litigation including securities litigation, complex commercial litigation, intellectual property rights and catastrophic personal injury claims.Mr. Joyce has acted as lead counsel in numerous business matters including representation of officers and directors in securities litigation, commercial lenders, contract disputes, and employee restrictive covenants.
In addition, Mr. Joyce's corporate transactional practice focuses in corporate finance transactions with a focus on strategic and complex transactions for growing technology and telecommunications companies, including corporate governance matters, mergers and acquisitions, information technology transactions, strategic alliances and outsourcing transactions.He also counsels companies regarding disclosure and corporate governance issues, and he conducts special investigations and independent reviews involving such matters.
Mr. Joyce frequently speaks and writes on topics in technology and finance and has lectured in university programs on topics including structured finance, litigation and capital raising for small businesses.Mr. Joyce is a 1988 graduate of Mercer University School of Law, a member of the Mercer Moot Court Board and 1997 graduate of the Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University's Graduate School of Business where he received his Masters in Business Administration.
