The Lubins had not decided on a name by early afternoon, said Tammy Jones, a spokeswoman for Peace River Regional Medical Center.

Nevertheless, the boy will be showered with a basket of gifts from the hospital, a tradition for the first newborn of the year.

The basket includes stuffed animals, diapers, rattles, pacifiers, bibs and even a homemade quilt with 2006 embroidered on it, Jones said.

Jones said Ann got through the delivery well but was understandably exhausted by the experience.
