The Chester County Detectives announce the arrest of Tammy Jones, 30-year-old female, who resides in the Paoli area of Chester County, for Concealing the Death of a Baby, Abuse of Corpse, and Tampering with or Fabricating Evidence.

On or about Thursday, October 26, 2006 the defendant contacted a co-worker stating she had just experienced an abrupted delivery at her residence during the 26th week of her pregnancy.Ms. Jones stated to the co-worker that the child was stillborn, having no vital signs.Subsequent investigation determined that Ms. Jones attempted to obtain cremation services but was unable to without the proper documentation.Further investigation revealed that Ms. Jones kept the alleged stillborn at her residence for two days and disposed of the child in a biomedical waste receptacle at the Chester County Hospital.

Ms. Jones surrendered to Chester County Detectives on January 18, 2007 without incident at Magisterial District Justice Peter J. Winther's court.Ms. Jones was arraigned and released on $5,000.00 unsecured bail and scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing on February 1, 2007, before Magisterial District Justice Peter J. Winther.
