    Jeanine Johnson is a software design engineer in test.She works for Microsoft's .NET Framework team, which is responsible for delivering the core technology for the new company initiative.

    Johnson is out at work and also in the world at large.She's the founder and current president of TriPoints, the GLBT alumni organization of her college, the University of Missouri-Columbia."We've developed a mentoring program in which GLBT youth and their allies can contact alumni for career and academic advice," she says proudly.

    She also founded and is working on funding for the first scholarship fund at the university for GLBT students and allies.She hopes it will be ready for distribution by the fall of 2003.

    At work, Johnson spends most of her day writing code."I try to put stress on our product, measure its performance capabilities, hack for security holes, and generally look for logic and design flaws at the code level," she says.

    Her background in object-oriented languages and computational theory enables her to break down problems logically into their most fundamental pieces.Johnson has a dual BS in computer engineering and CS from Missouri-Columbia's College of Engineering.She hopes to go on to an MS in math.

    Johnson began her Microsoft association with two college internships, both in developer tools.In 1999 she took a permanent position as a Web developer in Columbia, MO. In 2000 she moved to Redmond, WA to take her present position.
