About Bloyce
Bloyce Johnson was born in Odebolt, Iowa and has lived in Iowa and Wisconsin.He moved to the Des Moines area in 1979.Bloyce comes from a musical family and started singing in church choirs in third grade.He says he's been involved as member or director of vocal and instrumental groups ever since!
Bloyce is married to Gayle, a senior underwriter for State Auto, and they have five children.The four oldest (all boys) are married and have given Bloyce and Gayle the pleasure of five grandchildren.The youngest (a girl) now lives and works in the Des Moines area so they get to see her more frequently than the others.
Bloyce has held the position of Director of Music Ministries at WDM UMC since April 2000.He received a degree in Music Education from the University of Iowa and has done graduate work at Iowa, Iowa State and Northwestern.His duties as Director of Music include coordinating music activities in the church, working with music directors and groups, and directing Chancel Choir and other groups as the need arises.
Bloyce enjoys visiting his children and grandchildren, vacationing in quiet places, participating in musical activities and helping others learn.
