    In 1990, Dr. Johnson retired from IBM after 26 years and founded Rainbow Analysis Systems Group, Inc.RAS Group, Inc. specializes in the areas of staffing, training, developing courseware, managing contract programming projects, LAN/WAN/Internet solutions, and turnkey systems.Some areas of specialty in consulting include Software Design, Software Testing, Reliability Analysis, and Project Management.

    Dr. Johnson successfully won a National Science Foundation Grant to support the initial phases of product development for a simulation tool used to evaluate system dependability in 1991.He has participated in SEI maturity level assessments.He was involved in the design implementation and evaluation of reliability, availability, and serviceability of many IBM products such as the RS/6000, AIX, and IBM System 370/138 and 148.He developed testing methodologies for many IBM products and has taught Software Testing since the early 1980s throughout the world.

    He has taught at IBM's Systems Research Institute, lectured at IBM's Quality Institute, developed and taught courses in Computer Systems Reliability.He was a member of IBM Technical Education's University Programs Group for four years, has been an adjunct professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Texas at Austin, taught courses for University of Texas's Continuing Education.He has presented tutorials at the International Phoenix Conference of Computers and Communications and at International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems.Over the last twenty years he has taught and developed courses in Software Design, Real-time Software for Distributed Systems, Project Management, Fault-tolerant Multiprocessor Design, Fault-tolerant Computing, Software Testing, Reliable System Design, and Reliability Analysis.

    Dr. Allen M. Johnson, Jr. is a Senior Member of the IEEE (Computer Society and Reliability Society), member of ASQ, member of ACM, member of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, member of the Capital City Chamber of Commerce, and faculty member of the University of Texas at Austin Software Quality Institute Software Project Management Certificate Program.
