  Jennings, a native of England, previously served as a member of Dr. David Watson's Church Renewal Team, a U.K.-based drama, music, dance and worship team that performed throughout England, Europe and the U.S.A.He is a coach and player for San Diego Theatresports, where he teaches an after-school improv program for at-risk teens.
  
  He and his wife were artists-in-residence at First Presbyterian Church in San Mateo, Calif., and currently are the drama directors at North Park Baptist Church in San Diego, where they write, perform and direct others in dramatic presentations.
  
  While Dimworthy's only scheduled appearance is at the opening plenary on June 29, Jennings will perform five more times at the Faith and Life Conference, which has a theme of "First Things First: God's Vision for His Church," and a Scriptural foundation of Acts 2:42: "They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

  The deputy detained the individual, later identified as Ventura County Star staff writer Mark Jennings, for a very short time in order to establish his identity and determine he was in fact not a solicitor.
  
  Pursuant to an allegation of racial profiling filed by Mr. Jennings, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department conducted a thorough and exhaustive administrative investigation and determined that the deputy did have sufficient reason and probable cause to detain Mr. Jennings.Approximately 24 hours prior to this incident the deputy had assisted another deputy during the investigation of a complaint of several unlicensed solicitors in the same neighborhood.After one or two minutes the deputy was called away to respond to an emergency and had no further contact with the solicitors.
  
  The next day this deputy saw an individual who he believed to be one of the unlicensed solicitors from the previous day's brief contact involved in what appeared to be a similar activity.Based upon this belief, he detained Mr. Jennings only long enough (less than 4 ½ minutes) to determine he in fact was not the person stopped on the previous day and that he was a staff writer working on an assignment.While it is regretful that this incident was perceived as racial profiling and that Mr. Jennings was inconvenienced, the deputy in fact acted within reason, law and department policy.
