    A faculty member in medicine and medical informatics at Columbia University before coming to Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Jenders is also Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).Pursuant to his research in clinical decision support systems, Dr. Jenders served as Technology Chair of the National Vaccine Advisory Committee's Workgroup on Immunization Registries, contributing to its national action plan for registries.As a continuation of that work, he serves on the Technical Working Group of the National Immunization Program of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.In addition, he is Co-Chair of the Clinical Decision Support Technical Committee of Health Level Seven, an international standards development organization for healthcare computing.

    An invited lecturer at national and international conferences, Dr. Jenders has served as a reviewer for the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association and the International Journal of Medical Informatics.He has written editorials, articles and book chapters on the subject of clinical decision support systems and knowledge representation for Annals of Internal Medicine, Computers in Biology and Medicine and Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association and has presented his work at the annual symposia of the American Medical Informatics Association, for which he served on the scientific program committee of its 2006 Fall Symposium and 2007 Spring Congress.

    Dr. Jenders received his bachelor's degree from Marquette University and his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he completed an internship and a residency in medicine.He also completed a clinical and research fellowship in medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and a National Library of Medicine extramural fellowship in medical informatics in the Harvard-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Division of Health Science and Technology.He earned his master's degree in computer science from Northeastern University.He is an elected fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Medical Informatics.
