Arthur Jaynes

Arthur Jaynes, 40, of Coshocton, was driving on Township Road 480 from Conesville when his car, a Toyota Celica, ran off the road at about 11 p.m. Saturday.As Jaynes approached the intersection at Ohio 16, his car went off the right side of the road, crossed Ohio 16, and rolled several times.The car then struck an embankment and rolled again before coming to a stop.

Jaynes was transported to The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus via MedFlight and died from his injuries early the next morning.

Jaynes grew up in Albuquerque, N.M., and received his bachelor's and master's degrees in sociology from the University of New Mexico.He was pursuing a doctor's degree in sociology from The Ohio State University and was a graduate fellow of the University of Chicago.

Jaynes did intensive home-based programming with families to help them live together better.

"On a professional level, Arthur had a way of helping families overcome barriers that none of the rest of us could do," Fehrman said.
