At this second meeting I also suggested involving Sarah Jay of the Trust's Patient, Public Involvement Team to try and get responses from service users recently discharged and who were now under the care of Community Home Treatment Teams.

People maybe aware that the Trust is using other quality improvement and validation schemes for adult mental health wards.

SURF members Mark Appleby and Mark Henderson met with Sarah Jay, the Patient Public Involvement manager with the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust to discuss how we might work together.

It was agreed that where appropriate Sarah would let interested service users know about the group and she took with her information about SURF to pass on. This is the start of a process and we look forward to meeting with Sarah on a regular basis.
