"It's pretty obvious that these innuendo and allegations that have gone on don't have anything to do with the community," Aaron Janowski said Monday in explaining why he sent an e-mail to Stuart's supporters urging a "standing room only" turnout.
...
Janowski was referring in part to Clark Griep's statement last week that he had an affair eight years ago with Stuart, whom he is opposing in the Nov. 1 election.
...
Janowski, who contributed services worth $7,500 to Stuart's campaign, agreed that no one should speak at the meeting.
"I think she's right," he said of Erickson's concern."That's the whole idea of coming and sort of having a silent presence."
Janowski has applied for an open "citizen's" slot on the Broomfield Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, a public-private enterprise charged with bringing business to the city. The mayor will not play a major role in whether he is selected. The council and the board will elect a Broomfield resident to the post in November.
Janowski moved to Broomfield last week from Superior, where he had lived since relocating from New York City last year.As CEO of Wellsley Corp., he designs, develops and markets Web sites, including one he built for Stuart's campaign.
Asked if she endorsed Janowski's e-mail, Stuart said he sent it on his own.
"A City Council meeting is no place for a campaign," she said, but added that "the public is always welcome to attend.
