Mr. Jan received his B.Sc. in English, Botany, Physics, and Chemistry from Islamia College, Peshawar.He received his Masters in Forestry from the Pakistan Forest Institute and his Masters in Forestry, Resource Management, and Development Planning from the University of Minnesota, USA.He has had a long distinguished career in forestry.Mr. Jan served as Chief Conservator of Forests, Government of NWFP, from 1976-81.Most recently, he was Advisor/Consultant on Forestry to the Pakistan Banking Council.Mr. Jan has attended a number of workshops on forestry, climate, and forestry development.Furthermore, he is the author of a number of papers on forest policy, grazing rights, and forest cooperative societies.Mr. Jan has also made valuable contributions to the National Conservation Strategy (NCS), and the Forest Sector Master Plan.
