Lucinda Jamison, a native of Orangeburg, was recently honored with The Regional Medical Center's Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing.The award is presented annually and voted on by members of TRMC's nursing staff.
"There have been many highlights throughout my nursing career, and I would have to say this is the greatest award I have ever received," said Jamison."I have been nursing for almost 21 years, and I love it just as much today as when I began nursing in 1982."
Jamison, a staff nurse in the operating room, is a graduate of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College with an associate's degree in nursing.She has been employed with TRMC since 1987 and served in various capacities to include pediatrics, medical and surgical units as well as the emergency department.
A member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses, Jamison is certified in operating room nursing and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
The winner of the Nightingale Award is chosen by peers in nursing.
