  Both with connections to the Alaska Mission for Christ (formerly known as the Alaska Mission Committee) - Pastor Gowen and a crew of volunteers have come to Alaska the past three summers to do vacation bible schools in the villages; Pastor John Jameson from Our Savior has brought a crew of volunteers to Hooper Bay - in fact, Our Savior is one of the pioneer congregations to establish a long term commitment with an Alaska community which includes twice a year visits and complete underwriting of the costs of the ministry.
