Rachel Jackson, Senior Heritage Consultant with Godden Mackay Logan Pty Ltd, Heritage Consultants, holds a Bachelor of Design degree in Interior Design from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a Masters in Heritage Conservation from the University of Sydney. She has more than 10 years heritage experience in private practice and working with the Commonwealth government. Prior to joining Godden Mackay Logan, Rachel was a Senior Conservation Officer in the Historic Heritage Management Section of the Commonwealth Department of Environment and Heritage, where she provided technical and heritage management advice to Commonwealth agencies on the heritage provisions of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cwlth). Her role also included management advice for and the assessments of National and Commonwealth Heritage List places. Rachel was also a special projects officer for several Department of Defence disposals and a range of Commonwealth government agencies. Between 1994 and 2000, Rachel worked as a Heritage Consultant for Tanner Architects Pty Ltd, where she was involved in a wide range of conservation projects, several of which received UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Awards. Rachel has prepared many Conservation Management Plans, Heritage Assessments, Heritage Impact Statements and Heritage Curtilage Studies for a varied range of historic places.
