   Ben has over thirty years experience as a financial planner. He earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) professional designation from the College of Financial Planning in 1979. He has also participated in a long list of professional seminars and education courses over the years to keep his knowledge and skills up to date. Ben has also taught courses on technical subjects like financial planning and estate planning to other financial services professionals. Ben is President of ONYX Family Group, Inc., a financial planning organization dedicated to helping families preserve wealth.
   
   Ben enjoys working with people and likes to compare financial planning to ice skating. "As I watch skaters on ice," he says, " I'm drawn to the individual interpretation and gracefulness of the skaters. Some skaters have wonderful technical skill but fail to connect with their audience while performing. They remind me of some planners and advisors who are technically competent but cannot relate to the personal needs of their clients."
   
   Ben has completed all the requirements and is certified as an FBR System, Inc. Wealth Transfer Specialist. "Many families are discovering that their wealth is more than just the money and other assets they've accumulated," he says.
