From what I heard the old members of IAF are not accepting the idea to change, and they are unfortunatelly the only one that votes , and the reason it is because it is convinient to then to keep this situation, once they prefer to keep this false idea to the public, and in this way, have a certain "previlege" when dealing with the governement and with the Prss.
...
That is why IAF has not much importance in practice....unless to the personal reputation of those that represent it in its respective countries.
USAF has left IAF, now it seems it will comme again. For my wish if the statatutes will not chanGe I would prefer that USAF would be transformed to a kind of WAF (World Aikido Federation), allowing that all organizations in the world could become affiiated creating a second international Federation, fullfilling the role that the present IAF is not doing.
I wish the spirit of the Founder will iluminated their consciences with the Aikido spirit and those that vote in IAF will remember that if they will keep alone ....they will end up alone in the future when a new international aikido federation really democratic and representative will be created.
...
They would then no longer be member of IAF. Furthermore he proposed to present the issue of outstanding fees to a collecting agency. If the IAF did not wish to do this, he proposed to write off the outstanding fees as a loss.
...
Exclusivist: IAF does not include everyone Does not try to do everything Inclusivist: IAF tries to do everything IAF includes everyone
...
- Appointment of the senior council (8.1): IAF is legally an independent body.
...
His vision for the future was to create a virtual meeting place where people could meet and discuss IAF and Aikido related matters.Looking at the features of the web-site he saw that there would be many possibilities. He saw that one of the problems for the near future would be the supervision of the web-site.
...
So it is simple, you could propose that IAF would accept any oficial aikikai recognized organization as member.
In this way, my organization, in Brazil and other in USA and Europe and many other that attend the minimum to be recognized can become affiliated. Not allowing that the official Hombu AIkikai recognized organizations can not affiliated to IAF, in my view, is not trust in the Aikikai recognizing certificate, that is signed by Doshu.
Thanks for your answer, I am glad you understood my intention to bring this matter to the public in such an important time to the future of IAF and to the better organization of the art all over the world.
I just cant agree that IAF is democratic in the way that democracy is understood in America.
...
Excuse me those that posted , asking me personall comments about my direct interest in this changing, but I will not answer then one by one in detail once I want to keep this thread focused in what really cares, that is this oligarchy in IAF, and not discuss my personal organization advantages and my own reasons for this changing once I think this is obvious, if AIkikai recognized me...of course I dont want to feel marginalized by a International Aikikai Federation having Doshu at the top of the head, at least on the paper.
...
So the money that should go to all aikidoist of a coutry end up to those of the officially recognized organization by IAF.
...
Besides, what it is good for me it is also good to most aikikai recognized organizations that can not affiliate to IAF.
...
When IAF was created, it was stabilished that just one representative per country would vote in the decisions. That time was possible cause in fact, basically there were no more then one official representative of Aikikai in each country. In order you can have an idea, Mr. Reichin Kawai, that created Fepai and was his first president, that you know once you are brazilian aikidoist, was the sole representative for Brazil, and supervising all South America when IAF was created.
...
In, 1991 Kawai resigned pressed by his students that left him, and a sucessor was choosed , and Fepai started to be runned by Mr. Makoto Nishida that still presentelly is the only, exclusive representative of the International Aikikai Federation once only FEPAI can be affiliated to IAF.
...
But Fepai regarding to IAF just do things that are of interest of this organization. They never envited me to do anything together regarding IAF, on the contrary, they say in the brazilian martial arts midia:
"Join Fepai, the only officially recognized Aikikai Aikido Organization by IAF the international Aikido Federation".
...
What it is in discussion presentelly in this next IAF meeting is that maybe they will change the statutes and then, all the 3 organizations in Brazil could become affiliated to IAF, finishing with the rule of just one representative per country.
...
I am just defending my rights that are the same that many other aikikai organizations in Brazil and all over the world in the way that if my organization is officially recongnized by AIkikai and if IAF is a international Aikikai Federation, I have to belong to this organizations with the same rights then the other in similar conditions.
...
All your arguments of joining IAF will be of no reason under the shadow of this other "agenda" of yours.
Like an ellection, if you can convince me, a practicioner like any one else, I think you will have no problem having enough support to achieve your goal towards IAF.
...
I think you will have no problem having enough support to achieve your goal towards IAF.
...
Do you think that Kawai Sensei organization can not be affiliated of IAF? Do you agree that only FEPAI can be officially recognized by IAF.?
I think that Kawai Sensei organization also deserve to become affiliated by IAF, once Fujita Sensei is giving dan certificates to its members, and , after all, Kawai Sensei was his first 4th vice president in the past.
...
Nishida Sensei assumed as the new sucessor, and is the present official Brazil representative in IAF;
...
Please lets keep in the topic that is ......like in other coutries it is not fair that my organization or Kawai sensei organization can not be affliated to IAF and that just FEPAI can be.
...
Do you think that Kawai Sensei organization can not be affiliated of IAF? Do you agree that only FEPAI can be officially recognized by IAF.?
In fact, I am not against any other organization to join IAF.
...
And, in the years to come, just one organization MUST be affiliated to IAF?
...
Well, in other words it seems that nothing has changed in fact and the "feudal" structure to IAF after this last meeting and what should be a horizontal organization , it will be kept beeing a organization of "groups" not representing the whole aikikai organizations in the world.
It was decided that the old idea of just one aikikai representative per country will remain and in this way each representative will be able to keep with his personal card saying that he is the sole personal representative of Aikido to the authorities in his country, for his pride and as a good key to open the doors to him when having contacts with his local governamental authorities using the prestige of AIkikai to the exclusive benefit of his own organizaion.
The old system that was stabilished 30 years ago when Aikido population was much more smaller will be kept.
I am very sory for that.
I suggest then IAF change its name to : "ISAF- International Some Aikikai Organizations Federation".
Unfortunatelly the aiki spirit was lost , and instead of trying to blend people this non aikidoist actitude will keep then separated.Of course that in the present format the sole present affiliated organizations in each country to IAF can now come back to their countries and say :
