As of July, it had raised $63,000, with about a third of it funneled to a slate of board of education candidates and the Hackensack Democratic Organization, records show.
He pointed out that the word "Democratic" doesn't appear in the group's name, and that it would be inappropriate to set up a partisan fund-raising vehicle given Hackensack's tradition of nonpartisan politics.
