Paris Hurley has been playing the violin in a multitude of orchestras, chamber ensembles, and bands for the last 21 years. Her wide variety of experience extends from her Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 15, to her mastery of new music and love of experimentation, making her one of the most sought after violinists of the Northwest.

While finishing her degree at Cornish College of the Arts, Paris became a core member of the hyper-experimental performance group, Degenerate Art Ensemble. For over two years she worked closely with the collective, collaboratively creating multimedia works that ranged from explosive rock club sets to large-scale dance/theater productions, notably performing at The Moore Theatre (Seattle), the REDCAT (L.A.), and throughout Germany.

Seamlessly morphing between styles and traditions, Paris has come to be known for her chameleon-like abilities, exquisitely manipulating her strong classical roots to accommodate a plethora of genres. Since migrating to Seattle in 2003, she has put these skills into action writing, recording and performing with an array of local groups including Circus Contraption, The Dead Science, Aqueduct, Parenthetical Girls, Seattle Pianist Collective, Implied Violence, Reptet, Gamelan Pacifica, The Bike Bin Project, Figeater, Led to Sea, Ribbons, The Water Tower Project, The Pacific Rims Percussion Quartet, Trespassers William, Johanna Kunin, and Eric Miller, among others.

In summer 2008, she joined the ranks of art-rock-gypsy-metal-punk band, Kultur Shock, writing/recording locally and performing throughout Europe in venues ranging from tiny punk clubs to 100,000 seater festivals including Sziget (Budapest), Stufstock (Romania), Exit (Serbia), The Creation of Peace Festival (Russia), Sayan Ring (Siberia), and Earth Festival (Greece).

Currently, Paris is inhabiting her first role as Artistic Director for the multi-media work, Bridging Wounds, set to premiere at the Northwest Film Forum (Seattle) in September 2009.

Rocky Road to Dublin was selected for the prestigious Critics' Week at the 1968 Cannes Film Festival, where it was the last film publicly screened before the festival was stopped in solidarity with the then-erupting May '68 events in Paris.During that tumultuous period, Rocky Road to Dublin was screened numerous times throughout Paris by student groups, with whom the film's theme of "What do you do with your revolution once you've got it" obviously struck a responsive chord.

In addition to scenes of the May '68 protests in Paris, THE MAKING OF ROCKY ROAD TO DUBLIN features rare Cannes footage of Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut demanding that the festival be shut down and the argumentative responses from Peter Lennon and others in the audience.
