    Telstra Country Wide Area General Manager Northern Region, Mr Noel Hunt, announcing the funding at the construction site in the north-eastern township, said the allocation reflected the company's commitment to listening to its customers' needs and concerns.

    ‘This funding was specially earmarked by Telstra for network rehabilitation work in rural exchange areas,' Mr Hunt said.

    ‘It was via community consultation at events such as our ‘Roadshows' and research by our filed staff that Winnaleah and the other project sites were selected to receive this funding.'
